The Dog and Duck's bar area was created in 1851 when two 16th century cottages were converted into a beer house. The features of low ceilings and oak beams have changed very little since this time. The bar and function room have a lovely period feel with sympathetic décor and furnishings. Oak tables and benches provide plenty of seating. Logs crackle on an open fire in the winter months, to be replaced by fresh flower displays in the summer. The bar and fireplace display shining brass ornaments and the walls are covered with old photographs of the pub and surrounding village.

The bar serves good quality, well-kept ales and offers a good selection of lagers, spirits and soft drinks. The extensive wine list boasts a selection of 25 premier red and white wines.

A lunchtime menu features a wide range of baguettes, salads and other light meals together with a choice of traditional pub fare. Daily specials and homemade puddings are also available.

Full disabled access and facilities are provided in the bar and restaurant area. Children under 14 are welcome in the restaurant but are not allowed in the bar area due to licensing restrictions.
